WebsydianExpress is a new product and version 1.0 is the first major release of WebsydianExpress.
WebsydianExpress is installed separately from Websydian 5.6 and after the install you will have a running web site with a web–based administration application.
All the basic building blocks such as user management, session and security necessary for web applications are build right into WebsydianExpress, allowing developers to focus on the business logic.
From the web-based administration interface you can manage everything related to the web site such as users, menus and business logic.
Due to a change in the Plex runtime the ASP/JSP scripting feature in Websydian did not work with Plex 5.5 SP1. This has now been fixed so the scripting environment also works with Plex 5.5 SP1.
Due to a change in the Plex runtime the BinaryPageGenerator did not work on the Windows platform with Plex 5.5 SP1. This has now been fixed.
The web service support in TransacXML did not work with Plex 5.5 SP1 on the Windows platform. This has now been fixed.
On the Windows platform a TransacXML application would fail due to a memory error after creating many XML documents.
Previously the Websydian Server would stop if the max concurrent users limit was reached in the Basic or Pro variants. This has been changed so instead of stopping the Websydian Server will start a grace period of 30 days where there is no limit of the number of concurrent users.
After the grace period the Websydian Server will fall back to the limit imposed by the Basic or Pro license.
The grace period can then be used to upgrade the Websydian Server to either Pro or Enterprise. This upgrade is also easier as it is no longer necessary to change runtime files when upgrading. Only the license file is changed when upgrading the Websydian Server.
